From the Global Fight Against Violent Extremism to countering emerging regional threats, Intelligence Officers in the Navy Reserve serve at the forefront of national security. Your findings based on the collection and analysis of an adversary’s strengths, weaknesses, capabilities, and intentions will be key to conducting successful U.S. military operations. Utilizing the latest technology, advanced systems, and analysis techniques, you will locate, identify, analyze, and disseminate real-time intelligence information in support of operational warfare commanders. Typically, this includes using tactical and space-based imagery, computers, radar, acoustic sensors, and electronic signals surveillance to analyze intelligence data.

The specialized knowledge and expertise you gain, coupled with your security clearance, will make you a highly desirable candidate to employers in the civilian high-tech sector.

Qualifications
To qualify, you must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. You can, however, come from a wide range of technical and non-technical academic backgrounds, including political science, engineering, computer science, history, physical, and natural sciences and the liberal arts with emphasis on language skills. Degrees in veterinary medicine, theology/divinity, any of the healing sciences, or music are not accepted. You should possess a balance of experiences that demonstrate strong leadership and technical skills related to either military or civilian intelligence occupations. Additionally, expertise in foreign area studies, international relations, and languages is desired.
